CD cover

Today we made a mock of our CD cover which you can see below

We edited these images together on photoshop and added a blur on the bit of the fireplace under the mantle as well as just behind the frame to create a shadow to make it look more real.
This will probably not be our final background but we used this floral wallpaper because we thought it fitted our band's indie image and the idea that kitsch is cool.
Because it's just a mock we added a photo of the Temper Trap in the frame to give us idea of how it will look. we also added a slight blur on the inside of the frame to make it look like that photo is rally in there. in reality Hannah is going to take a photo of her fireplace but this is just a mock p to give us idea on the final product.

Over the weekend we are going to take our own photos of a fireplace, photo frame and our band and make a replica of this. Our original design was slightly different to this but we found that it was too simple and dark to fit with our music video. This version has the photo in a house, as our music video is, and the text has been made smaller and more delicate so that it doesn't look out of place.

Extended Deadline

Due to the weather a few weeks ago, we have been given an extended deadline of the 11th January. This has given us a chance to re-film a couple of shots and just generally polish it up to make it better than it would have been with the original deadline, which is excellent.

!MET OFFICE WEATHER REPORT!
From around mid-December, cold air from eastern Europe dominated the UK weather. This was to be the start of a cold spell which would continue up to the start of the Christmas period.
Widespread frost, ice and snow affected some areas.
  • The first significant snowfall occurred on the night of Thursday 17 December and into Friday 18 December.
  • Parts of south-east England, Yorkshire and north-east England were badly affected, with particularly deep snow in parts of East Anglia.
By the weekend of 19/20 December the cold air had spread across much of the North Atlantic, effectively surrounding the UK.
  • On Sunday 20 December heavy snow from the north-west affected western areas of Scotland, northern England, and Northern Ireland.
  • On Monday 21 December heavy snow affected southern areas of England during the late afternoon and evening, as milder air from the south mixed with the cold air already across the UK. Snow was particularly heavy during the evening rush hour in parts of Hampshire.
  • On Tuesday 22 December eastern areas of Scotland had frequent snow showers.

Feedback

In lesson today we assessed each others work and gave feedback. The overall feedback for ours was good but it was suggested that we should add some more narrative about the photo to make it obvious it's what she's looking for and fill up some of the blank space we still have also it would make the video less monotonous so it's not all looking in the house. We've booked out the camera equipment out again and are going to film over christmas.

Music Video: Editing

Now halfway through the editing but it's taking it's time because we keep making silly little mistakes that we have to keep going back to change.
